Are you looking for a hip, trendy and, more importantly, happy place to stay during your next trip to Thessaloniki? Then look no further than Colors Urban Hotel, which offers all the necessary amenities and much more, even an in-house spa studio, but at budget-friendly prices and is at the very heart of the city.
The Colors Urban Hotel in Thessaloniki
COLORS Urban Hotel is a modern, stylish 4-star boutique hotel in downtown Thessaloniki, just minutes away on foot from the main shopping and dining areas, while also close to many sightseeing spots. It is the latest arrival in the family of Colors hotels. With 26 uniquely decorated rooms and friendly, warm hospitality, it feels more like a home-away-from-home than a hotel.
At Colors Urban Hotel you’ll find all the amenities needed for a comfortable city break: from the colourful bar/restaurant The Garden Bar, which opens to the relaxed street of Agios Minas (where the Jewish History Museum is located) and so allows for al fresco dining in warm weather, to the chic and lovely spa & massage studio Massage.Me, perfect for the travel-weary guest.
Begin your stay with a relaxing massage at Massage.Me
I arrived at Colors Urban Hotel from Athens in the afternoon. After settling in my bright and spacious room on the 5th floor, I went straight to the hotel’s spa & massage studio, Massage.Me, for some well-deserved post-flight pampering.
The studio is indeed an oasis of relaxation in a busy city. The personnel was most welcoming. They greeted me with a smile and offered me a refreshing cup of herbal tea, to enjoy before my massage.
The massage itself was amazing! I had one of those that use hot stones (my favourite kind) and it was a most relaxing experience. Best way to prepare for a good night’s sleep afterwards!
The Rooms
One of the most pleasant surprises I had while staying at Colors Urban was how quiet it was in the room. I didn’t really expect a hotel located in the heart of a busy city to have rooms so quiet. It helped that my room was on the 5th floor, but the soundproofing and double-glazed windows eliminated any noises. The view was a delight, I could see the port and admire the historic Averoff cruiser (a former WW2 battleship and now a floating museum) that was in Thessaloniki at the time of my visit.
Moreover, the room was spacious and bright, with a comfy queen-sized bed (with an anatomic mattress) and a cosy sofa for relaxing. The room had adequate storage space for clothes, free WiFi, a 32″ flat-screen TV, a minibar and an in-room safe.
As regards the bathroom, it had all the expected amenities, including fair-trade toiletries, a hairdryer, slippers and fluffy bathrobes.
The Garden Bar
Every self-respecting fun and modern hotel has an equally hip restaurant, and Colors Urban doesn’t fail. The Garden Bar is a fun, eating space with a bar, that offers healthy breakfast options inspired by Mediterranean flavours. It is the perfect place for a casual weekend brunch or cocktail night.
How eco-Friendly is COLORS Urban hotel?
At Colors Urban Hotel the aim is to have as small a carbon footprint as possible. For instance, the bathroom toiletries are fair-trade and biodegradable, with large dispensers to minimize plastic waste, while the light bulbs everywhere in the hotel are energy-efficient LEDs.
In addition, COLORS supports Greek producers and local communities by opting for fresh, locally produced, ingredients in their restaurant as well as donating to local organizations.
A hotel is its people
Above all else, for me, a hotel is its people. I was very pleased with the overall service during my stay. Smiling, polite and always quick to help with anything you might need.
I genuinely had a great time at Colors Urban Hotel in Thessaloniki. It is the perfect base for exploring the city, especially for the modern traveller. The location couldn’t be more convenient and the hotel is modern and fun. Simply the most trendy option for your next city break in Thessaloniki.
